Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2025
Introduction
Curlo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a native macOS application developed by Qianlan Du. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Curlo.
In short: Curlo does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
Data Collection
Curlo does not collect any personal information or usage data. Specifically:
- No account registration or login is required
- No analytics or telemetry data is collected
- No crash reports are sent to us
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
- No advertising identifiers are collected
Local Processing
All of Curlo's features — including semantic search, metadata processing, and audio analysis — run entirely on your Mac. Your audio files, search queries, tags, and all other data remain on your local device and are never transmitted to any external server.
Network Access
Curlo does not make any network requests, with one exception:
- App Store subscription verification: Curlo communicates with Apple's servers solely to verify your subscription status. This is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework, and we do not have access to your Apple ID, payment information, or any other account details.
Local API
Curlo provides an optional local HTTP API that is only accessible from your own machine (localhost). This API does not expose any data to the internet and does not accept connections from external networks.
Third-Party Services
Curlo does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app uses open-source libraries and machine learning models that run entirely on your device.
Children's Privacy
Since Curlo does not collect any data from any user, no special provisions for children are necessary. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we do not collect any contact information, we are unable to notify you directly of changes.
